Elk Island Catholic School Parents

EICS recognizes that parents are a child's first and most important teachers. At EICS, therefore, parents play an integral role in their child's education - both at home and at school. We welcome and encourage parent participation in all areas of their child's education.

The Catholic Schools' Parent Communication Committee
Catholic Schools' Parent Communication Committee (CSPCC) is a forum which provides an opportunity for parents to learn about Division activities through the Superintendent's Report and the Trustee Report. Its primary purpose is to facilitate sharing of information between School Councils, Division Administration and the School Board, in order to be united in our vision for our children and their education.

Guidelines for the CSPCC Committee:

  • enhance communication between Parents, the School Board and School Administrators;
  • channel information to parents through School Councils about the operation of our District School System;
  • provide an opportunity for our School Councils to communicate with the Board;
  • develop a safe place for partners to openly communicate concerns, aspirations and ideas for our children's education; and
  • provide opportunities for networking between schools in our district.

School Council Representatives on CSPCC
School Councils and/or School Administration are requested to appoint one or two parents to represent their school at the CSPCC meetings. The representatives are responsible to communicate information from their School Council at the CSPCC meetings and in turn share information from that meeting with their School Council.
